Tom Payne Sr. nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year.

Payne Transportation Inc. is pleased to announce that Tom Payne Sr. has been chosen as one of the three finalists for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year award. Tom was selected in the “Business-To-Business Products and Services” Category for the Prairies region.

Tom has earned this nomination through hard work and by compiling and guiding a talented group of managers and employees. His more than 35 years experience in the trucking industry has helped him to create a vibrant and aggressive company that goes out of its way to satisfy each and every customer. Tom also ensures that each of his drivers and employees are treated fairly and compensated above industry standards.

On October 14, 2004, a finalist in each business category will be presented with a regional category award during a gala celebration, with one category recipient then being awarded the title Entrepreneur of the Year for the Prairies region. The Prairies region award recipient goes on to compete with top entrepreneurs from the Pacific, Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic regions for the coveted national honour of Entrepreneur Of The Year, to be announced November 4 in Ottawa. In June 2005, Canada’s Entrepreneur Of The Year moves to the world stage, joining more than 30 country recipients participating in the international competition for the title of World Entrepreneur Of The Year.
