Fuel Mileage reward program

In an effort to encourage a more environmentally-friendly operation, Payne Transportation LP is pleased to announce a “Fuel Mileage Reward Program”.

This program will review all Owner/Operators fuel mileage for each quarter, and the truck with the best fuel mileage will win a FREE OIL CHANGE AND SERVICE (up to $250).

We will calculate the fuel mileage based on each trucks dispatched miles and all recorded fuel purchases. If we find suspect someone has not recorded a fuel purchase, they may be disqualified from that quarters program. To qualify for the program, the truck must work during each month of the quarter with a minimum 5,000 miles. We will announce the winner of the 4th quarter of 2007 at the end of January.

The purpose of this program is to encourage our drivers to consider the environmental impact of their actions when driving. These days, many customers and investors are taking into consideration the “green” aspects of the company they deal with or invest in. Some things that can greatly affect your fuel mileage:

· Don’t leave at the last minute to make delivery on time.

· Don’t speed.

· Reduce idling time

· Using an alternative power source.

· Shifting properly.

· If purchasing a new truck, consider a lighter, more aerodynamic truck.

As an example of what a better fuel mileage will save you, for the month of November 2007, the truck with the best fuel mileage did 6.80 US MPG. The worst truck was 4.07 US MPG. Based on 10,000 miles per month at $3.30/gallon price, that’s a cost difference of $3255.16 in fuel for one month! That works out to almost $40,000 per year out of your pocket! The average for our company was 5.13 US MPG
